Women Are Placed First In NDC — Naana Jane

Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyamang, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Flagbearer Running-mate, said the Party believed in the capacity of women in championing national development, hence the maximum respect it accords them.

“An invitation of a woman is an invitation of all,” she said, and that her selection to partner Mr John Dramani Mahama was evidence enough to create the opportunity for women to participate in the decision and governance processes of the country.

Prof Opoku-Agyemang, speaking at Abutia Kisifli in the Ho West District, as part of her three-day campaign tour of the Volta Region, called on women to give their maximum support to the Party by voting for it to win the December 7 polls to enhance the well-being of all.

She said NDC recognised the important roles women played in socio-economic advancement and would, therefore, create more opportunities for them in its next government.

The Party's record attested to its commitment to infrastructure development, she said, and it would continue with that in its next administration, making sure that modern markets were built across the country to create a serene environment for traders to engage in their business activities.

Prof Opoku-Agyemang also visited the Ho Central Market, where she interacted with women and their, male counterparts, urging them to vote massively for the NDC for a positive change.

She called for tolerance and respect for one another in this crucial times to safeguard the gains made and ensure the nation went through the December general election with absolute peace and tranquillity.

Togbe Kwadzo Gidi V, the Paramount Chief of Abutia Traditional Area, commended Professor Nana Opoku- Agyemang for her distinguished role in education, social and political sectors of the country, and wished her and the Party success in the election.

He said the community was facing problems regarding potable water and deplorable road networks linking Abutia-Kloe and Juapong, and all efforts made to get those challenges addressed had yielded no results.

He, therefore, appealed to the Party to go to their aid, should it win the election, to alleviate the plight of the people.

Mr Emmanuel Kwesi Bedzra, Member of Parliament (MP) for Ho West, assured the people that the next NDC-led administration would not neglect them, saying it would work to fix their problems to bring positive change.

He called on them to give the Party the nod through their massive votes for effective transformation of the country.
