A scene from the movie Sparrow Productions is once again about to launch itself into the movie market with yet another exceptional movie after causing a stir about two years ago with its movies, 'Scorned' and 'Life and Living It' as well as the TV series 'Different Shades of Blue'.
The new movie is titled 'The Prefect Picture'; and Shirley Frimpong-Manso, the writer and director, described it as “colourful, funny and exciting.”
She told BEATWAVES that the movie would be premiered on April 3 at the National Theatre in Accra with a grand red carpet event. Subsequently, the movie would be sent to some film festivals around the world for screening.
Last Wednesday, a press review screening was organized at the Silverbird Cinema at the Accra Mall to review the movie with the producers. Unfortunately, the purpose for which the event was organized was totally ignored as posing for pictures and interviews rather took over.
There is a hitch in one of the scenes and if it is not tackled before the major premiere, BEATWAVES would not hesitate to 'crucify' it.
The movie is however expected to go beyond the borders of Ghana and hit the international market with a big bang.
It featured some of the best princesses and princes of the screen who indeed put up some impressive acting skills. They included Jackie Appiah, Lydia Forson, Naa Ashorkor Mensah-Doku, Adjetey Annang aka pusher, Nana Kwame Osei Sarpong, John Demula and Chris Attoh, and introducing the king of Ghana's comedy, Kwaku Sintim-Misa otherwise known as KSM.
The combination of these actresses and actors could better pass the movie for 'The Perfect Match' than the title 'The Perfect Picture'.
With traits of Black American movies, the movie tells the story of three beautiful women in their 30s - Aseye (Jackie), Akasi (Naa Ashorkor) and Dede (Lydia Forson) - who made bold attempts to change their destinies.
Aseye got married to Larry Steven (Chris), having dated him for a year without sex. On their first night in bed after their wedding, Aseye finds out that her man cannot perform. They therefore went to see Dr. Anderson (KSM) who declared both of them sexually fit.
But the problem still remains that one of them is not romantic enough to arouse the other.
Smart as she is, Aseye hatched a plan to rescue her marriage. She smuggled Dede, who is noted for husband-snatching and good at arousing men, into her matrimonial bed to turn on Larry, after getting himself drunk.
If Dede is able to arouse Larry, then Aseye is the problem.
But will this be possible? Can Dede stand the temptation if Larry gets aroused?
That's just one end of the tale as Dede and Akasi also have to struggle to keep the love of their lives.
It is a must-see movie. By Francis Addo
