Kumawood actor and producer Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, has expressed frustration over what he describes as the deliberate neglect of his latest film, Captain Ibrahim Traoré: The Last African Hero, by Ghanaian media outlets.
In a social media video recorded after the film’s second showing at the Eusbett Hotel Cinema in Sunyani on Saturday, August 16, 2025, the comedian stood beside a customized 2024 RAM 1500 decorated with posters of the movie and accused local television stations of refusing to give the project the attention it deserves.
Lil Win said he monitored major entertainment shows across the country from Friday, August 22, to Sunday, August 24, but did not hear any discussions about the film.
He lamented that Ghanaian media houses failed to highlight the project even during its premiere in Sunyani, despite the international recognition it has already attracted. The movie has been nominated for Best Movie in Africa at the Switzerland Festival Awards.
“Even with the international nominations, no national television station has talked about my movie,” Lil Win complained.
Inspired by the young Burkinabè leader, the film has already premiered in Kumasi and Sunyani and is scheduled for additional screenings across Ghana in the coming weeks.
