A former Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Haruna Esseku, on Saturday appealed to members and supporters of the party to remain united and work extra hard towards the party's victory in the 2012 general election.

He said though the party lost the 2008 election its performance was not bad and expressed the hope that it could come back to power.

Mr. Esseku said this at a thanksgiving service organised by the Senya branch of the NPP at Senya Beraku.

He thanked the people for voting for the party and appealed to the supporters not to be discouraged for losing the election.

Mr Esseku expressed the hope that the President Mills government would continue with projects initiated by the past government in the area which include the construction of fishing landing site at Senya Beraku.

Mr. Esseku said before the NPP left office the road from Awutu Beraku linking Bontranse to Obreachire was awarded on contract for tarring and expressed the hope that work would start soon.

He advised party members to be law abiding, tolerate each other's views and contribute their quota towards the development of the area.

Mr. Enoch Boateng, Awutu-Senya constituency Chairman of NPP, thanked the people in the area for their support for the party since 1992.

Mr. Boateng later presented 120 street lamps from the party's headquarters to the community.

Earlier, members and supporters of the party went on a float from the town to Bonsueko and Krobonshie.
