Kotoko head coach,Bashiru Hayford, has told the club's supporters to discount the team's loss to Liberty in the Top 4 tourney on Wednesday night and look ahead to Sunday Confederation Cup match.

Two goals from Liberty striker Yaw Antwi before the half-hour mark coasted them to a 2-1 win after Francis Akwaffo pulled one back in the 68th minute.

Fans of the Ghanaian champions have written them off ahead of Sunday's Caf Confederation Cup tie against Al Merreikh after an abysmal first half performance.

"The game plan is that we're preparing for Sunday's match so those who have been resting should play. This one has given me a clear idea of what to play on Sunday,so everybody should be cool," Bashiru Hayford told Ghanasoccernet.com.

"Central defence are those we have now excepts those we have been starting so are using them so we take a good decision on them.

"I have played four top four matches and won all so the supporters should be made to understand the big picture is on Sunday and we're preparing.

"Had it not been the top 4,we would have played a trial and what about if we had lost, will they react the same way?

"Playing Merreikh is a different thing altogether and trust the Boys to deliver in the Caf match."

Hayford has been under pressure to deliver and an unfavourable scoreline against Sudan's Al Merreikh could lead to his exit.
