Kotoko play B.F side in stadium anniversary

hana's Asante Kotoko will engage Burkinabe Champions Commune Football Club of Ouagadougou in the 50th anniversary of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Wednesday.

The Kumasi Venue Local Organizing Committee of Ghana 2008 football tournamnet has arranged the international friendly for the club who have used the ediffice for their league and continental clashes.

Asante Kotoko have had some good times at the stadium with the winning of the then African Club Championship trophy in 1974 and 1983.

The Porcupine Warriors have won the Ghanaian League 20 times and the FA Cup on eight occasions.

Kotoko were runners-up in the maiden edition of the CAF Confederation Cup in 2005 and bridemaids of the defucnt African Cup Winners Cup in 2002.

Some past players are have been invited by the club to witness the encounter at the stadium. Reverend Osei Kofi, AbdulKarim Zito, Abdul Razak, John Bannerman, Opoku Kyenkyenhene only to mention a few have agreed to attend.
