Ghana forward Abdul Fatawu Issahaku says he is thrilled to have been named in the Black Stars’ final squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, insisting he is fully focused on helping the team achieve a strong tournament run.
The 22-year-old winger, who made his World Cup debut in 2022 with an appearance against Portugal, described his return to the global stage as both a privilege and an opportunity to build on earlier lessons.
Speaking in an interview with Ghana Football Association media, Issahaku said his first tournament experience has strengthened his readiness for the challenges ahead.
“I feel amazing because it’s always a dream come true to be part of a World Cup team. I’m privileged to be a part of this team, and this is my second time,” he said.
“The first time was about experience, and I learnt a lot. Now I’m going to put in everything to help the team get to a better position," he added.
Ghana, who are making their fifth World Cup appearance, have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, Croatia and England.
The Black Stars begin their campaign against Panama on Wednesday, June 17, at BMO Field in Toronto.
The team has already arrived in the Canadian city ahead of the fixture and is scheduled to hold a mandatory training session at the match venue on Tuesday.
