When Appiah Stadium Makes Begging A Profession…..

It is very shocking how some people in the name of begging have thrown decency into the gutters and would do anything possible to tarnish the image of their unsuspecting victims when their wishes are not met.

One of such people is a so called NDC serial caller in Kumasi called Appiah Stadium who has developed the penchant to always beg people of high class, be it politicians or businessmen to make a living and woe betide you if you don’t satisfy him.

Indeed, this Appiah Stadium guy has been working as a Political entrepreneur where in the name of politics has been flirting with both the two major political parties, namely the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

At a point, especially during the tenure of office of former President John Agyekum Kufour, he was deeply involved in the activities of the NPP and according to his own testimony was part of the Ghanaian supporters who were sponsored by the state to cheer the national team at the 2006 World cup in Germany.

Fast forward to 2009, and the late President John Attah Mills had won political power. And to the shock of the NPP in the Ashanti Region, the opportunistic Appiah Stadium crossed carpet to the NDC.

What cause the shock over his defection was that, Appiah Stadium had not long ago accused some NDC youth in the region of brutally assaulting him whiles driving along the Asafo roundabout in Kumasi.

Per his own narration, the NDC youth who considered him as a threat to their party did not only beat him mercilessly, but burnt his Daewoo Lenox Salon car valued at Ghc 7,100, into ashes.

Information available at that time indicated that, leadership of the NPP in the region mobilised to get him another car, while they also paid for his legal services to enable him pursue the case in court.

But, after showing him all the care and support needed, the anti-hard work Appiah Stadium stabbed the NPP in the back and defected to the NDC.

His reason for defection? That members of the NPP in the Ashanti region were making life unbearable for him through intimidation and threat. The same accusations he leveled against the NDC youth.

So, he joined the praise singing choir of the Mills administration and was profiting from the job.

Fast forward to 2019, the much maligned Akufo Addo by Appiah Stadium is now the President of the republic of Ghana under the ticket of the NPP and again this Appiah stadium character cannot survive it.

So, in order to survive, he had to once again resort to defaming and maligning people who are not even politicians, attempting to destroy their hard-won reputation in the process.

One of such unsuspecting victims is Alhaji Seidu Agongo, a famous businessman and philanthropist, who has over the years build his reputation and business empire through hard work.

Through hard work, Alhaji Agongo has been able to open businesses in areas such as banking, food, agro-products and media among others, employing thousands of Ghanaians.

As a philanthropist, he was recently awarded by the St Paul’s Lutheran school in Accra for adopting and sponsoring some needy but brilliant students of the school, up to the university level. As if that's not enough, he has also been organising Easter fun fare programme every year to provide food and money to orphans.

But people like Appiah stadium would not let him have peace.

Last week, I read on the internet an interview granted by Appiah stadium, threatening to organize demonstration to push for the incarceration of Agongo. It should however be noted that, Seidu Agongo is standing trial together with Dr Opuni over some cocoa fertilizer issue at the Accra High Court.

Indeed, the threats raised my curiosity over what might be compelling the NDC serial caller to do that. And holalaa!!!! It's the same issue. Begging and not being attended to.

Leaked audio tapes available has revealed that, Appiah stadium pestered the businessman to give him money to celebrate the birthday of his son and he wasn't successful. It is shocking how one can be so callous and mean just in the name of being a political entrepreneur.

It is characters like Appiah stadium that has put the businessman in the current situation he finds himself, suffering from political persecution, with most of his business interests being frustrated by government, including the current take-over of his Bank, the Heritage Bank.

Because, Alhaji Seidu Agongo has never contested any political position in the NDC or has been openly involve in their activities. I am also not aware that only NDC people are being employed to work in his companies, but Appiah stadium and his likes continue to link him to the NDC, making the government of the day uncomfortable with him.

It is a fact that, Appiah Stadium has made begging his profession and would do anything possible, including stripping naked, as he did in the street of Kumasi during the campaign tour of former President John Dramani Mahama last year.

But, he should spare Alhaji Seidu Agongo, for his not a politician, but a businessman contributing his quota to the development of mother Ghana.
