Accra, Nov. 8, GNA - Nine companies on Tuesday donated various items to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to support this year's National Farmers' Day celebration.
Dizengoff Ghana Limited donated agricultural chemicals worth 121 million cedis while Wienco Ghana Limited donated items worth 86 million cedis and a cheque of 20.250 million cedis to the Ministry. ECOBANK Ghana Limited contributed 25 million cedis while the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority gave agricultural equipment valued at 25 million cedis and pledged to provide free lunch and cruise for the award winners.
Other donors were Latex Foam, Continental Commodities Traders Company (CCTC), Frankatson Limited, Multivet and Company and Sea Freight Pineapple Exporters.
Mr Ernest Akumbuoh Debrah, Minister of Food and Agriculture, and Mrs Gladys Asmah, Minister in charge of Fisheries, received the donations and thanked the donors.
