06.08.2018 LISTEN

Mobile Telecommunications Network Limited (MTN) has linked 27 communities within the Volta Region to the national telecommunication grid through its Rural Telephony project in partnership with the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC).

The Company also launched 29 new 4G sites in the Region, and extended fibre broadband by several kilometres as part of coverage expansion projects nationwide.

Mr Selorm Adadevoh, Chief Executive Officer, who made this known at the tenth edition of MTN'S Yellow Soiree, which was held at the Volta Serene Hotel in Ho, said the Company remained focused on developing products and services to guarantee the connectivity customers deserved, adding that it's USD 144 million investment in CAPEX for the year would drive further customer experience.

"We believe that the customer deserves a connected life, hence our huge investment in infrastructure and technology solutions," he stated.

Mr Adadevoh said the MTN Ghana Foundation had injected a total of GH¢702 661.70 into health, education, and economic empowerment projects in communities such as Kpedze, Kpeve, Tornu, Akatsi, and Tsito aside scholarships and other social initiatives across the Region.

He said in addition to its Initial Public Offer (IPO), MTN had recently launched a Business Empowerment Series to equip corporate clients particularly Small to Medium Scale Enterprise operators with needed skills to excel in the evolving digital age, and urged customers to help enhance service delivery through feedback.

"Your feedback helps us to provide a distinct customer experience with relevant products and services, and I will like to assure you that MTN remains committed to its agenda to serve the best value propositions and deepen our relationship with you our valued customer," he said.

The telecom giant, currently holding the nation's largest number of subscribers, in July ending 2018, closed its IPO launched earlier in March to cede up to 35 per cent of shares to Ghanaians in line with requirements for 4G licence.

The soiree was to show appreciation to customers in the Region for their loyalty and support.

Some lucky subscribers won phone handsets and other souvenirs in a draw at the event.
