Nkosuohene donates jerseys to Owiredu F/C

Kumasi, Sept 22, GNA - Mr Stowart Bonney, publisher of Northumbrian Magazine in the United Kingdom (UK) on Tuesday donated two sets of jerseys worth five million cedis to the Owiredu Stars Football Club at Kyirapatre, a suburb in the Kumasi Metropolis.

Mr Bonney, who is the Nkosuohene of Kyirapatre said the Northumberland Football Association of UK provided the jerseys. Nana Owusu Annor Panin III, Kyirapatrehene who received the jerseys on behalf of the club, thanked the Nkosuohene for his gesture. He commended Mr Bonney for his assistance towards the development of the town especially in the area of education.

He said the Nkosuohene has assisted in the construction of a school block, and Information Technology Communication (ICT) centre, which is now at lintel level.

In a football match played in his honour, the Under 17 side of the Owiredu Stars beat their Under-20 side 5-4 on penalties after a goalless drawn game of regulation time. 22 Sept 05
