The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejura /Sekyedumasi in the Ashanti Region Hon. Mohammed Salisu Bamba on Saturday donated a brand new ambulance to Ejura /Sekyedumasi Health Directorate to help improve access to healthcare in the municipality.
The MP made the donation at a grand durbar of the second edition of the "Bra fie" festival of the Chiefs and people of sekyedumasi, a suburb of Ejura in the Ashanti Region.
Speaking at the durbar which also marked the official presentation of the item, the MP expressed commitment towards improving socio-economic lives of the people.
He noted that the donation of the ambulance was in fulfilment of his promise to stop the unfortunate phenomenon whereby pregnant women and sick people were conveyed on motor bikes and other discomfort means to refferral centers for treatment.
The Member of Parliament also promised to upgrade the the Sekyedumase Health Center to a full fledged hospital when he and Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo emerge victorious in the up coming December elections.
After the presentation, the Omanhene of Sekyedumase Traditional Council, Nana Antwi Bosiako l who recieved the ambulance on behalf of the Health Directorate, expressed his profound gratitude to the MP, labeling him as "Oy3 Ade3 Yie" which means destiny changer.
He added that the ambulance has come as a big relief to the Health center since it will reduce the difficulties the Health authorities encounter in refferring patients especially women in labor to the refferral centers.
Nana Antwi Boasiako I said even though Chiefs are not allowed to do open politics, he cannot help but declare his unflinching support to Hon. Bamba for his hard work and sacrifices, entreating all his subjects to vote for him come December 7.
