The Ghana Police Service has arrested three more suspects in connection with the murder of an Indian national, Sain Devendra Kumar, whose body was discovered in the boot of his abandoned vehicle at Sabin Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region.
The newly arrested suspects have been identified as Osman Moro, also known as Thiago; Moro Sule, alias Moro Aboboyaa; and John Adoko, alias Carter.
Addressing journalists in Accra yesterday, the Director General of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, DCOP Grace Ansah Akrofi, said the arrests followed intelligence-led operations conducted in Kumasi.
According to her, one of the suspects, Akum Kojo Junior, admitted his involvement in the crime and disclosed that on April 24, 2026, he visited the deceased’s workplace where he disconnected and replaced a CCTV server with the assistance of Moro Sule.
She explained that investigators later retrieved the CCTV server from a hideout at Daban New Site in Kumasi after the suspect led police officers to the location.
DCOP Ansah Akrofi further stated that the suspect confessed to taking possession of the deceased’s iPhone 17 Pro Max and a Tecno mobile phone. He allegedly handed the iPhone to Osman Moro at Kaase and gave the Tecno phone to Moro Sule.
Police subsequently proceeded to Kaase where Osman Moro was identified and arrested.
“Suspect Osman Moro led the Police to a nearby bush where the deceased’s iPhone 17 Pro Max, wrapped in a brown envelope and fresh leaves, was recovered from a hole he had dug in the ground,” she said.
The police also arrested Moro Sule near Dompoase in Kumasi and retrieved the Tecno mobile phone from him.
Investigations further revealed that John Adoko admitted driving the deceased’s vehicle to the location where it was abandoned.
DCOP Ansah Akrofi said all the suspects remain in police custody while efforts continue to arrest two other suspects identified as Zuzu Adrama, alias Killer, and Vipul Jetpur Vijay, alias Taruu.
In a related development, the police have also arrested a suspect linked to an armed robbery attack on a VIP passenger bus at the Nasia Bridge along the Bolgatanga-Tamale highway.
The robbery attack, which occurred on May 2, 2026, resulted in the death of two passengers.
The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Jamal Bature Mumuni, was arrested last Wednesday.
According to DCOP Ansah Akrofi, investigations have linked the suspect and his gang to several robbery attacks across the Upper East and North East regions.
Providing background to the murder case, she explained that on April 25, 2026, at about 2:00 pm, police in the Ashanti Region received information that the deceased’s vehicle had been abandoned near the Royal Lemosey Hospital at Sabin Akrofuom.
A police team dispatched to the scene found the vehicle parked by the roadside and, upon inspection, discovered the lifeless body of the victim in the boot with multiple stab wounds.
She added that an earlier intelligence-led operation had already resulted in the arrest of another suspect who remains in custody and is assisting investigators.
