Open Letter To Bankole

Open Letter To Bankole
04.11.2008 LISTEN

Dear Dimeji Bankole, just to inform you that I was rushed to the clinic at the outbreak of the alleged scam that has denuded the House, which you are the Speaker, over the purchase of vehicles.

My trembling and disappointment was not actually that you are not a human being, but the questions Obasanjo and Etteh could be asking by now, “Where is the Integrity?”

Perhaps you are oblivious that a lot of people in your generation are looking up to you. I was one of the many Nigerians who have not said it open that I was in support of you, not because you are the Speaker, but because it's a young blood that was made the Speaker from the touted “Integrity Group”.

But if the proves of allegation by Keyamo who has indicted the House you lead of corrupt practices is anything to go by, then I am disappointed in a young blood characterized by kleptomaniac tendencies like you.

What would Iwu be saying about Nigerians by now about the news? He would be laughing at us in his cosy compound somewhere that allegations leveled against you has no place to the ghastly mishap called 2007 elections he was the chief conductor.

Mind you that Keyamo has come up with facts in the House and was demanding for explanation from no other person but from you. (He has even written you). Your colleagues in that session were gasping for the breath. None could ask Keyamo questions or answer the questions from him.

My Dear Dimeji, you have to tell people like me who were in support of you as a young Speaker, convincingly, how innocent you are in this allegation of car scam. You cannot be at the House opening your 32-teeth while people like me are dying in shame, because I was boastful of you. If you cannot exonerate yourself from this, it then means that there is no hope for the future Nigeria, as youths of today like you can't make a difference. I am not happy, at all!
