NADMO delivers relief items to over 1,000 flood victims in Samreboi

The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has stepped up relief efforts for more than 1,000 residents displaced by the recent floods in Samreboi in the Western Region, as affected families continue to grapple with the aftermath of the disaster nearly two weeks after it struck.

The latest humanitarian intervention forms part of NADMO's ongoing response to provide immediate assistance to flood victims while longer term recovery measures are being implemented.

Presenting the relief items to the Wassa Amenfi West Municipal Directorate of NADMO, the Western Regional Director of the organisation, Daniel Darlington Atitso, said the supplies had been released to provide urgent support to displaced households.

The consignment included 100 bags of rice, 30 boxes of cooking oil, 12 bales of used clothing, and four bales of bedsheets to help address the immediate needs of families affected by the floods.

Mr Atitso said the relief package reflects NADMO's commitment to easing the hardship faced by victims and helping communities begin the recovery process.

He explained that the intervention is intended to provide temporary relief while the organisation continues to coordinate broader recovery and rehabilitation efforts in the affected areas.

The items are expected to be distributed to displaced families in the coming days as officials continue to assess the impact of the floods and identify additional support required by affected communities.

“These are part of an urgent response to help address the situation. The aim is to support affected people so they can begin to recover and return to normal life as quickly as possible.”
