More than 60 men have been arrested by police during a swoop at Asisiriwa in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region.
The arrests follow the alleged killing of two men at Asisiriwa during a violent clash between two youth groups. According to reports, young men from the neighboring community of Brodekwan.
The deceased were reportedly lynched during the fight, while three others remain in critical condition.
The violence, which erupted on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, was triggered by an alleged relationship dispute involving a young woman from Brodekwan and a young man from Asisiriwa.
The disagreement escalated into a full-scale confrontation between the two communities.
A source in the community told OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, that both young men and elderly residents were arrested indiscriminately by police on Tuesday morning.
