The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has scheduled a major planned maintenance exercise in the Western Region for Monday, April 27, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, as engineers also continue to address widespread power disruptions in parts of the Central and Tema Regions.

The situation follows a fire outbreak at GRIDCo’s Akosombo substation on Sunday, 26th April 2026, alongside multiple network faults that have affected electricity supply across several communities.

Western Region – Planned Maintenance (9:00 am – 4:00 pm)

The maintenance exercise will affect the following communities:

  • Mansiso
  • Wassa Akropong
  • Samang
  • Adesu

Central Region – Power Curtailment (12:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Sunday)

Following the Akosombo substation fire, ECG curtailed power supply in parts of the Central Region. Affected communities included:
