A new innovative management and leadership program which will be telecast for thirteen weeks is expected to commence on television soon.
Dubbed “Change Managers”, the half-hour television talk show programme would be a collection of provocative interviews and profiles of some of the most innovative and distinguished business executives and leaders institutions.
Each week, the programme, with the dynamic Akwasi Sarfo Kantanka as its host will feature one-on-one discussion with a distinguished leader of business or institution in Ghana.
The purpose of the programme is to elicit their candid views on their management or leadership philosophies, managers or leaders who have influenced them, their values, visions and practices that drove them to achieve successes as they tackled tough organizational and leadership challenges.
Also, their observations, experiences and advice will be used to evaluate prevailing business wisdom, experiences and to ensure a more certain future for the industries within which they operated or are still operating.
Examples abound of local managers and leaders who have successfully turned around their organisations.
However foreign managers are always cited as examples of successful managers especially in our educational institutions.
The focal point of the programme is mainly on managers who have transformed businesses and institutions they inherited.
It will also focus on those who have not necessarily inherited businesses or institutions, but whose pioneering ideas have transformed industries and influenced national development.
Mr. Akwasi Sarfo Kantanka was nominated for the Most Innovative Business Idea award by Empretec Ghana in 2000.
He holds a BA Hons. from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and an MBA from the University of Ghana Business School.
He has over 15 years experience in the private sector in marketing and management.
