Ghanaian actor and member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Prince David Osei has asserted that former President John Dramani Mahama will not return to power, even if he receives blessing from all pastors in the country.

David Osei made this statement in a social media post on Saturday, October 12.

In his post, the popular actor dismissed the possibility of Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) winning the presidency despite what he described as “propaganda” and accusations leveled against the ruling NPP.

He pointed out that illegal mining, a major issue in the country involves individuals from both the NPP and the NDC, as well as other influential figures in society.

“Let me share a brief perspective. Even if all the pastors were to pray and anoint Ex-President Mahama, he would not regain the presidency. The ongoing propaganda tactics against the NPP, including accusations of involvement in illegal mining, will not succeed. The issue of illegal mining involves individuals from both NDC and NPP, politicians, pastors, and the public. Some of us are not mere observers; our prayers are impactful,” Prince David Osei wrote.

Illegal mining has become a critical issue in the run-up to the elections, with accusations flying between political parties.

The NPP government has faced backlash for its failure to effectively curb the menace, despite President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s promises to deal decisively with the problem.

However, David Osei argues that the situation is not the fault of any one party but rather a national challenge that involves actors from all sectors of society.

The actor also used his platform to rally support for the NPP, urging Ghanaians to vote for the ruling party in the upcoming elections.

“Pay attention and consider the facts. Vote number 1 for Progress on the 7th of December. Your future depends on it. #itspossible,” Osei added, referring to the NPP’s position on the ballot for the 2024 elections.

Who chooses a president in a democratic society? In the Bible, it is written that God created man in His own image, but the stupidity and the lack of intelligence of people like David Osei, make me doubt God sometimes, even though I am trying not to. Do you think it's only prophesy that will make Ghanaians vote for Mahama? Tell me, what did Akufo Addo do with the public debt of GHC 761 billion? Tell me, what Akufo Addo and Bawumia do in eight years rather than the collapse of the economy, bus...

Is Mahama's government heading in the right direction?
