"It looks as if the man, Nana Addo, is taking revenge on Ghanaians for rejecting his father's legacy." I don't know any explanation that I can give to someone who can't practice what he was preaching. It's very sad. I don't know if we are heading to judgment day. "

Who made this comment and where did I find it? I enjoy reading news and reader comments on various platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, and one of my favorite Italian-language websites, and someone did make this comment about the E-Levy on "Melodies TV."

I took interest in this particular comment because it doesn’t only make sense to me, but also it seems to me that the president has taken a wrong turn in politics to punish Ghanaians. Why is it that Akufo Addo has lied and disappointed ordinary Ghanaians yet doesn’t care about their welfare in any way?

Ghanaians were made to believe the former Ghanaian leader, John Mahama, was bad and corrupt, but the bitter and harsh experiences Ghanaians have experienced under the leadership of Nana Akufo Addo in a democratically-elected government have never been witnessed in Ghana's political history. Silence has fallen on Ghana and the sound of a falling needle can be heard because everyone lives in fear.

Why will a president who claims to be a human rights lawyer continue to abuse his power of office by violating the rights of ordinary citizens to impose an E-Levy the majority has ejected? Why is Akufo Addo bitter with Ghanaians to the extent that an apology and responsibility are not possible for him?

It may be likely that Akufo Addo has long planned that if he becomes president, he will let Ghanaians suffer just as the one who commented said because Ghanaians made his father suffer by giving support to Kwame Nkrumah. The changing of names of institutions built by Nkrumah confirms that.

In one of my articles, I mentioned that I couldn’t get any clue as to why Akufo Addo hates Kwame Nkrumah so much until I listened to the book review of Obed Asamoah by Paul Adom-Otchere. In that article, I said:

I know the Ghanaian president, Nana Akufo Addo, as someone who extremely hates Kwame Nkrumah. I used to believe that this hate was attributed to Nkrumah’s success and achievements as the first Ghanaian president until Obed Asamoah’s book revealed the reason to me.

According to the writer, after the Kulungugu bomb attack, which was a failed assassination attempt on the life of Nkrumah, the perpetrators, who were Tawiah Adamafio, H. H. Cofie-Crabbe, and Ako Adjei, were put on trial under the legal proceedings of Chief Justice Kobina Arku Korsah, Justice William Bedford Van Lare, and Justice Akufo Addo, the latter being the father of our current president, Nana Akufo Addo.

At the end of the trial, Justices Korsah, Van Lare, and Akufo Addo acquitted and discharged the suspects: Adamafio, Cofie-Crabbe, and Ako Adjei. This infuriated Nkrumah and sacked the three judges he appointed, including the father of Ghana’s current president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.

This particular piece of history provided in the book of Obed Asamoah made me fully understand why Akufo Addo continues to hate Nkrumah to this very day and has done everything possible to tamper with Ghana's history.

For this reason, I had an interest in that comment that inspired this article. Experience is the best teacher, they say, and as we know, the current Ghanaian President, Nana Akufo Addo, has made ordinary Ghanaians pass through bitter, uncountable experiences that will make it difficult for any of Akufo Addo’s relatives who want to enter into politics in the future.

A president needs to create a good name so that his deeds will always be remembered by Ghanaians. However, we have been forced to live in a society where only certain political elites have power; therefore, the lies, deceptions, and the bitter experiences that the majority of Ghanaians have passed through would likely affect any of Akufo Addo’s family that has intentions to join politics in Ghana in the future.
