The Convention People's Party (CPP) has issued its detailed strategic plans to support state owned factories.

Some factories which were established under the CPP government led by Nkrumah collapsed after years by other governments which includes the Kade Match Factory in the Eastern Region.

The Kade Match Factory, by January 1964 was the leading producer of matches in the world. This increased Ghana's booming economic potentials as it brought in the substantial income of foreign exchange and also brought match producers from the United Kingdom to understudy in Ghana.

Speaking to the media on a tour to the Kade Match Factory on Monday, 23rd November 2020, the CPP presidential candidate, Ivor Greenstreet, stated that his government when voted for would ensure stability among state-owned factories.

"Our plans for this particular factory is in the sink with our detailed strategic plan which will be fed into a detailed National Development Plan which will look at the key strategic sectors of this nation.

"The difference is we will give state support, state protection, state investment, state opportunity to make sure they succeed otherwise they will fail because we are in a competitive world, " he stated.

He added that the NPP and NDC ideas on providing job stability have not yielded any good results.

"What has been happening now, the strategy the NDC and NPP have been using all these years clearly it is not working.

"Because if after 28 years you have 50 to 60 percent of your people unemployed then clearly your system is not working," he said.

He also lamented the lack of commitment on the part of successive governments to utilise national resources for economic development.

"All of these benefits that the Almighty has given us, the gold, Oil, diamond, gas, cocoa, Timber, fertile lands, and access to water resources we should not be having all these problems. And so, therefore, this factory is an example of what was done and what was achieved before," he said.

He, however, encouraged Ghanaians to come together to plan a new destiny for the betterment of the nation.

"So we have to once again come together with the best brain, the best mind, the best strategy with a rigorous scientific analysis with the support of the state and people of Ghana to plan a new destiny.

"And that new destiny, that new future we can all imagine that will transform our country and make it what we want it to be can only come with alternative policies and the alternative way forward and a Change of direction," he added.

"Which is why we continue to ask the people of Ghana to give the NDC and NPP an electric shock, if we don't give them the electric shock, we will continue in this life of hopelessness, you will continue in the life of joblessness, you will continue with the life of darkness, you will continue in a life of a nation in the division and a nation full of lies and deception while we want a nation of truth, light and of progress."

He further assured Ghanaians of providing alternative and sustainable job employment.

"We came to show you how there can be an alternative and a better future. Through the creation of industries, some new industries, some resuscitation of old industries to provide employment, not only in Accra but across the country," he stated.
