The title of your piece is misleading. The Okuapeman Manhene is NAna Addo Dankwa and not Nana Akwasi Gyan.

Indeed I am not sure there is a traditional designation called Akwapim Anafo. Akwapim Anafo is a Political Constituency (Akwapim South ) and does not constitute a Traditional Area with an Omanhene. It is a creation that further deepens the division of Akwapim and has left Akwapim fragmented and without any credible lobby.

Most of Ghanas problems stems from Chiftancy disputes in which Akwapim is embroiled and no exception. If our cultural institutions are to continue to play significant roles in our national development there has to be a more cogent approach to Chiftancy and to take personal egos out of it. We are destroying the Institution of Chieftancy and with it our Culture
