PL: Arsenal crowned Premier League champions as Man City held at Bournemouth

Arsenal have been crowned Premier League champions for the first time in 22 years after Manchester City failed to win away to Bournemouth on Tuesday.

Junior Kroupi had put The Cherries in front in the first half, with Erling Haaland's added-time equaliser not enough for Pep Guardiola's team. The draw secured Bournemouth European football for the first time in their 127-year history.

City had to take three points to ensure that the title race went to the final day, but they were undone by Andoni Iraola’s side in the Basque's final home game in charge, extending their unbeaten run to 17 league games.

Antoine Semenyo had a goal ruled out for offside on his return to Vitality Stadium, as City started on the front foot. However, Bournemouth had a lot to play for themselves, with a maiden European campaign on the horizon, knowing a point would confirm at least UEFA Europa League football.

And it was the hosts who drew first blood on a pivotal night on the South Coast, as 19-year-old Kroupi curled a sensational effort into the far top corner.

Substitute David Brooks had two one-on-one opportunities to seal victory late on, but one was expertly saved by Donnarumma while he struck the post with the other.

Haaland fired in off the post in the sixth minute of added time, but it was not enough to stop Arsenal from becoming champions with a game to spare.
