Renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has disclosed that Thomas Partey is set to depart from Arsenal during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Romano, speaking on the JD Football Show on YouTube, revealed that Arsenal has already earmarked potential replacements for the 30-year-old midfielder.
Among the contenders are Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz and Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi.
"Thomas [Partey] will leave. Arsenal has several players [targets] lined up, so there is a good chance they will bring in a new midfielder," he said on the show.
Partey's tenure at Arsenal has been clouded with uncertainty in recent months, primarily due to recurrent injuries, prompting the club's hesitance in extending his contract, which has just one year remaining.
Throughout the past Premier League season, Partey's contributions were limited due to injuries, featuring in only fourteen matches for Arsenal, with nine of those appearances being starts.
While speculation surrounding his future intensified last summer with links to the Saudi Pro League, no deal materialized.
However, recent rumours have linked Partey with a potential move to Barcelona.
Having joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020 for £45 million, Partey has amassed a tally of five goals across 95 appearances for the Gunners.
