
Police in Ashaiman have arrested two men suspected of being involved in a series of armed robberies within the municipality and neighbouring communities.
The suspects, identified as Nii Adjei and Selasie, are alleged to have carried out several violent attacks on residents in the area.
According to police, one of the incidents occurred on 27 May 2026 when the suspects reportedly attacked a woman, Akosua Dwomo, as she attempted to board a vehicle. The assailants were allegedly armed with machetes, knives, and a pair of scissors before robbing her of her belongings.
In another incident, a 23-year-old man identified as Danquah was reportedly attacked by the two suspects together with about 20 other young men. During the assault, the victim sustained cutlass wounds to one of his fingers before the attackers made away with his mobile phone and GH¢1,600 in cash.
The suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
Police say efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining individuals believed to have participated in the attacks.
