Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz has expressed confidence that his side will demonstrate their strength and quality when they face Panama in their opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars begin their campaign later tonight at BMO Field in Toronto, where they take on the Central American nation in what is expected to be a competitive Group L encounter.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference on Tuesday, Queiroz praised Panama as a well-structured and experienced side, while also backing his own team to rise to the occasion.
"Of course, (Panama) has some weaknesses," Queiroz said. "We need to find them, and I believe we have the solution to their strengths."
He added that Ghana possess a strong blend of attributes capable of making a difference on the night.
"We've got great experience, we've got quality, we've got speed, we've got skill.
"I think we can do well in one-on-one situations. We're strong, and we'll showcase our strengths in the game," he added.
The fixture has attracted significant attention as Ghana look to make a positive start to their fifth World Cup appearance.
After facing Panama, the Black Stars will meet England at Gillette Stadium on June 23 before wrapping up their group stage campaign against Croatia on June 27.
Ghana are targeting a return to the knockout stages for the first time since their historic quarter-final run at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
