Ghana forward, Frank Acheampong has been named best player by fans of Tianjin TEDA after playing a key role to help the team escape relegation from the Chinese Super Lig.
The exciting winger joined the club in 2017 in a bid deal that saw him moving from Belgian Pro Lig giants RSC Anderlecht.
This season, Frank Acheampong has led Tianjin TEDA as their captain, making him the first African to do so in the history of the club.
With the team struggling to pick up enough points in the regular season of the Chinese Super League, they were forced to play in the playoff with the risk of suffering relegation.
For the brilliance of Frank Acheampong, the attacker netted a brace to inspire Tianjin TEDA to a 3-1 win against Shenzhen FC.
The victory ultimately saves the club from relegation and hence they will play in the Chinese Super Lig next season.
To honour the captain, the fans of Tianjin TEDA has voted Frank Acheampong as the team’s best player of the campaign.
