The Asante-Akim South Municipal Assembly has made available 50 bags of cement and six bundles of roofing sheets towards the maintenance of classrooms structures of two basic schools.
These are the Ghana Muslim Mission Basic School and Aboaboso M/A Primary School.
Mr. Alexander Frimpong, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), handed over the building materials at separate ceremonies.
He said it was in response to the request made to the assembly by the management of the beneficiary schools.
He reminded them to make sure that these were used for the intended purpose to bring comfort and enhance the safety of the school children and their teachers.
He underlined the determination of the assembly to provide adequate classroom space for effective teaching and learning.
He added that it would do everything it could - invest more money, to raise the standard of education in the municipality.
Madam Asana Issakah, Headteacher of Ghana Muslim Mission Basic School, said they were grateful to the assembly for the support.
