Accra, March 24, GNA - The Council of State on Thursday elected Professor Daniel Adzei Bekoe as Chairman of the Fourth Council of State. A statement signed by Mr Sam Wiafe, Deputy Director (Public Affairs) of the Council of State, said he was elected unopposed by 24 of the 25 members, who were sworn-in earlier on Thursday by President John Agyekum Kufuor.
President Kufuor is yet to appoint s former Chief Justice to the Council.
Prof. Adzei Bekoe, Former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, takes over from Prof Alexander Adum Kwapong, who chaired the Third Council of State.
Prof. Adzei Bekoe, a Scientist, chaired the Development, Science and Technology Committee of the Third Council of State.
