Accra, Dec. 2, GNA - A new toothpaste brand, the 'Pepsodent Triple Protection', has been launched for the Ghanaian market by Unilever Ghana Limited.
The product is specifically formulated toothpaste, containing a superior mix of calcium fluoride, perlite and fresh mint to provide consumers with three levels of protection to fight cavities and strengthen the tooth enamel, maintain the natural whiteness of the teeth and fresh breath.
Speaking at the launch Mr Clarence Nartey, Marketing Director, Unilever Ghana, said Pepsodent Triple Protection is a demonstration of Unilever's continued commitment in improving the health and well-being of its consumers by providing unique solutions that offer consumers extra value.
'We are pleased to introduce a new variant of Ghana's number one toothpaste; specially formulated toothpaste acting as a superior mix to existing offerings while addressing the other oral healthcare needs of consumers,' he said.
Mr Nartey said cavities affect 60 to 90 per cent of schoolchildren and nearly 100 per cent of adults worldwide.
In Ghana, he said 96 per cent of adults within the ages of 35-45 years were affected by periodontal disease whiles 40 per cent of the 12 year olds suffer from decayed, missing teeth, stained teeth and bad breath.
'Not only does tooth decay cause pain and discomfort, but it's myriad of symptoms such as discoloured teeth and bad breath have a damaging effect on health and confidence,' he said.
The new ingredients contained in the new product was a representation of Unilever's continued commitment in improving the health and well-being of its consumers by providing unique solutions that offer consumers extra value.
