DANIEL And Wisdom Galore!…Gleanings From Chapters 1 & 2

Throughout the history of the world, the movers, shakers and doers have been people who exuded lots of wisdom because wisdom is the principal thing – that which will guide you to make life-transforming decisions. King Solomon, son of David asked Elohim for wisdom above all other things, and it is common knowledge to true Christians and others as well what Solomon has achieved with such wisdom. Wisdom really is the principal thing.

We must use every opportunity to seek wisdom if we are to make real impact in our world, same way we must willingly avail ourselves to the wisdom acquisition process. Many who drink from the wells of wisdom have carved and continues to carve a niche for themselves in their fields of endeavour. I will not dare mention names, because it has the propensity of exposing somewhat of my naivety.

How do we seek wisdom? What makes one wise? Well, these questions can be well answered with a good read of my friend's book “50 Characteristics of the Wise Man”. Apostle Justice Avevor in my estimation did a fantastic job enumerating and elucidating the qualities and features that makes one wise. Go for that piece and others he has written and you'll be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

I took time to discern the first two chapters of the Book of Daniel in the Old Testament of the Holy Bible and deem it wise to share those wisdom nuggets with you. Girdle your loins for the interesting journey ahead.

Nugget 1
When you obey God, go the extra mile and distinguish yourself, you will thrive even on enemy land[Daniel 1: 1 – 5]

Nugget 2
The enemy will try to redefine you, but you must know who you truly are: Daniel became Belteshazzar, Hananiah became Shadrach, Mishael became Meshach and Azariah became Abednego [Daniel1: 6]

Nugget 3
Your knowledge of who you are must lead you to a resolution. Your enemies will even show you favour [Daniel1: 8 – 9]

Nugget 4
Your enemy may show initial disapproval but let the power of your convictions and your readiness to toe the resolved path cause the enemy to agree with you [Daniel 1: 10 – 15]

Nugget 5
God sees the strength of your resolve and endows you with blessings that wows the enemy [Daniel1: 17 -19]

Nugget 6
You shall be consulted on all matters and your inputs shall have great impact. You will be miles ahead of your contemporaries [Daniel 1: 20 – 21]

Nugget 7
The fake and ungodly are exposed and punished [Daniel2: 1 – 13]

Nugget 8
You have to take initiative with diligence, wisdom and tact in difficult, challenging and dangerous times [Daniel 2: 14 – 16]

Nugget 9
Timing is relevant and try to enlist like-minded people in the presence of God and involve God in the solution [Daniel 2: 17 – 18]

Nugget 10
The faithful God opens your eyes to see the mystery of the situation [Daniel 2: 19]

Nugget 11
Give praises to Elohim for Him and Him alone is worthy. You must always be thankful [Daniel 2: 20 -23]

Nugget 12
You end up saving the fake and ungodly by providing what is needed [Daniel2: 24]

Nugget 13
You get introduced to the authorities that be and people who matter, as the man of solution [Daniel 2: 25]

Nugget 14
Confess and let others know that only God can reveal mysteries to man [Daniel2: 27 – 28]

Nugget 15
Provide the solution to the problem at hand [Daniel2: 29 -45]

Nugget 16
As the provider of last resort through God's power, royalty shall prostrate before you; but know that it is not your honour/glory, but that of God [Daniel 2: 46]

Nugget 17
People of the world acknowledge that God really is the God of gods through signs, miracles and wonders wrought through you [Daniel 2: 47]

Nugget 18
You get elevated for providing a solution through God's mighty hands [Daniel 2: 48]

Nugget 19
Use your new elevated position to benefit those who helped you gain the victory[Daniel 2: 49]

Wisdom is what will prevent us from falling into the abyss. Let's hunger and thirst after it day and night.
