
The Director-General of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, Air Commodore (Rtd.) Kwame Mamphey, has tendered in his resignation to the board.
His resignation takes effect from June 30.
Air Commodore (Rtd.) Mamphey was appointed in 2009 and is credited with overseeing the transformation of the aviation industry over the past five years.
Under his leadership, the number of domestic airlines grew from one in 2009 to the current four whilst attracting strategic international airlines into the country.
He is also credited with leading the GCAA to generate revenue for the construction of a multi-purpose training facility at the KIA enclave to train aviation professionals in Ghana and the sub-region.
