He died peacefully at the UQ Medical Clinic in Takoradi last Friday April 4, 2014.
In a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency on Monday and signed by Reverend Jonathan Y. Amoa, the Vice President of the Church said the family and the church would observe his one week celebration this coming Friday April 11 in Takoradi.
It said details of the final funeral rites would be communicated to the general public in due course.
Bishop Ofori-Twumasi, an engineer by profession from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), took into Ministry work in the early 1970s and had been credited as one of the few Ministers of God that led the Charismatic movement in the Western Region that won many souls for Jesus Christ.
He had groomed many servants of God including notable names like Rev. Jesse Sackey of latter Rain Ministry, Rev. Charlie Sam of Zoy Ministry, Rev. Bob Asare of Faith Alive Ministry, Rev. Joe Bechem, a popular gospel singer among others
