
Nii Nuertey Amobi II, the newly installed Appolonia chief has sworn the oath of allegiance to Nii Tetteh Otu II, paramount chief of the Kpone Traditional area, at a short but impressive ceremony at Kpone.
Present were elders from the Kojo We, the clan that gave birth to the new chief and Nii Tetteh Otu II, paramount chief of the Kpone Traditional area and his elders.
The elders of the area observed the process of the enstoolment of the new chief, according to a Legislative Instrument (LI) for the installation of divisional chiefs and others under the declaration of customary law (Kpone) Traditional Council Instrument, 2010.
Just like Kpone, chieftaincy in Appolonia is on rotational basis between Appiah We, Antie We and Kojo We.
Nii Nuertey Amobi II from Kojo-We, known in private life as Mr. Nathanial Nuertey Tettey, succeeded the late Nii Tei Adumoah II, who hailed from Antie We. He took over as Appolonia
Mantse from Nii Tettey Mensah I from the Appiah We.
The 35 year old electrical engineer was installed Appolonia Chief following the passing on of the late Nii Tei Adumoah II who ruled Appolonia for 40 years. He died at the age of 86.

He explained that on Wednesday January 22, 2014 the regent of Appolonia, Numo Elisha Dortey informed the Nuertey Amobi family of the death of Nii Tei Adumoah II.
As customs demand, the regent, elders of Appolonia and Kojo We notified the paramount chief of the Kpone Traditional area, in turn informed the Kojo We clan of Kpone and Appolonia whose turn it was to present a candidate for the vacant position in Appolonia to look for a suitable person to be installed as chief of Appolonia.
The Kojo We family unanimously nominated the new chief and the following Saturday, he was presented to the Kpone paramount chief in the presence of his elders and together they accepted him as the candidate for the vacant position.
All the necessary traditional and customary rites were performed for him after, which he was confined for three days.
