The flag-bearer of the Progressive People's Party (PPP), Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom has chosen Ms Eva Naa Merley, popularly known as Eva Lokko, as his running-mate in the December polls.
The party settled on former Director-General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation.
The party last night held a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting at which they reached a unanimous consensus on the choice of the running mate.
Dr Nduom told Joy News his running mate was chosen because she demonstrated incorruptible leadership skills.
“There were a number of people who are experienced [and] qualified but failed that test. Therefore we were not looking at [a] north-south, east-west, muslim-christian, male-female [ticket], they were not overriding considerations.”
“We wanted somebody who can blend into our team, accept the principles and be ready to work with us going forward,” Dr Nduom maintained.
