The Minister of Health, Alban S. K Bagbin has urged producers of natural herbal products in the country to register their businesses with the Traditional Medical Regional Council.
He said registering with the council will avoid quackery and ensure that Ghanaians get quality herbal medication.
In a speech read on his behalf at the re-launching of Capital 02 products and facilities in Accra, the minister said registration of the herbal product companies will assist the council to ensure that what they are producing is consumable and will not cause harm to consumers.
Bagbin also acknowledged the efforts of Capital 02 in registering its business and all its outlets in the country.
He said capital 02 is one of the companies whose products are not only locally acknowledged but recognized internationally, making it one of the best herbal products manufactures.
John Daniel Otoo, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Capital O2, noted that re-launching the products began with a health walk to assist patients since most of them do not usually exercise their bodies.
'A free medical screening was also provided to the people in the community as a way of giving back to the society since they are the ones who have brought the company this far,' he said.
He also added that because the company believes in quality and excellence, in the last couple of years it has received awards that are internationally and locally recognized.
The products introduced included Capital 02 Drinking Water, which was produced to prevent the consumption of unpurified water, and the Capital 02 Fitness Centre to help people exercise in order to prevent diseases such as high blood pressure.
The Capital 02 health clinics and laboratory was also introduced. These facilities will provide a less expensive one-stop shop for people in terms of access to health care.
An auto chemistry analyzer, advanced 'hospitex' microscope and chemistry analyzers were also introduced to help in massaging, scanning and checking the recovery state of the patients.
The new facilities and products are aimed at enhancing the wellbeing of the company's customers.
