Accra, July 18, GNA – Papaye Fast Food will soon establish fast food joints at some GOIL Filling Stations, Mr Divine Asiedu, Chief Executive Officer of Papaye Fast Foods, has said.
He said three of the food joints would start operating in Dansoman in Accra and this would be extended to the Ashanti Region and later to other parts of the country.
Mr Asiedu said this at a 20th anniversary buffet lunch and sporting activities the company organized for its workers and journalists at the Papaye Gardens/holiday Resort Village at Konkonuru near Aburi in the Eastern Region.
Those who attended included Mr Kabral Blay Amihere, Chairman of the National Media Commission and Mr Ackah Anthony, President of Sportswriters Association of Ghana.
Media personnel and Papaye workers engaged in fun games such as volleyball, tug-of-war, table tennis, volleyball, football, draught, cards and oware.
Mr Asiedu said Papaye had grown to be one of Ghana's most reliable and finest food providers and has branches at Osu, Tesano and on the Spintex road all in Accra and plans are afoot to open a branch at Tema.
Other activities lined up for the20th anniversary include a marathon race, a float, an Excellence Awards Night and a dinner dance slated for 1st December, 2011.
The media personnel at the end of the fun games emerged victors by winning two straight sets in the volley ball competition, draught and drew 4-4 with Papaye in a football match.
Papaye, however, won the tug-of-war with two pulls but failed to offer team players for the other games such as snooker, oware and table tennis and media personnel had to compete amongst themselves.
Mr Blay Amihere expressed his appreciation for the recognition shown to the media and pledged the media's support in pioneering excellence in the hospitality industry.
Papaye started its operation as a food joint in 1991 with 12 workers and now has a work force of 350.
