Brazil superstar Kaka has received a welcome boost as he continues his recovery from a knee operation, with the arrival of his first-born child…
AC Milan playmaker became a father for the first time last night when his wife Caroline gave birth to baby boy Luca Celico Leite.
The newborn is 51 centimetres tall, weighs 3.59 kilograms and is in perfect health.
“Mother and baby are fine,” read a statement on Milan's website. “All the Milanisti in the world send their affectionate congratulations to the new parents.”
The arrival of his son safe and sound into the world is not the only happy news Kaka has received.
The 26-year-old will be able to return to full training within a fortnight, according to Brazil medical adviser Jose Luiz Runco, after being sidelined following an operation on his left knee on May 23.
The former Sao Paulo star was omitted from the Selecao's upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Paraguay and Argentina due to lack of condition.
“I did it for the good of the Selecao,” explained Brazil boss Carlos Dunga. “Imagine our responsibility in case he suffered another injury.
“His club explained he had to go 20 days without training, so this means he would not have been in shape to play against Paraguay and would've had little time to prepare for Argentina.”
