In the aftermath of the devastating Samreboi floods—where water paradoxically became both a threat and a scarce necessity—Hon. Ignatius Kwasi Afrifa, former NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Amenfi West and aspiring Western Regional Chairman, has delivered a critical intervention to avert a looming public health crisis. In partnership with Hass Logistics, he has provided a fully functional borehole and a high‑capacity Rambo 500 polytank to supply clean water to more than a thousand displaced residents.
The disaster, one of the worst in Samreboi’s history, forced hundreds of families into temporary shelters after floodwaters contaminated local water sources. With the risk of cholera and other waterborne diseases rising sharply, Hon. Afrifa moved swiftly to secure a sustainable water solution. His collaboration with Hass Logistics resulted in the construction of a reliable borehole system and the installation of a large storage tank to ensure uninterrupted access to potable water.
The facility was officially handed over to local authorities at a brief ceremony. Receiving the infrastructure on behalf of the community were Mr. Christopher Bervel, Deputy NADMO Director for Amenfi West, and Hon. Thomas Andoh, Assembly Member for the Bekwai Electoral Area. The project was delivered by a Hass Logistics delegation led by Human Resource Manager Mr. Fred Cudjoe, supported by Mr. Dizon Blay, Mr. Alexis Kwasi Abiyaw, and Nana Kwasi Attah, Odikro of Asankran‑Saa.
During the presentation, the team emphasized that the intervention was designed to protect the health and dignity of displaced families who have struggled with unsafe water sources since the disaster. Community leaders and residents expressed deep appreciation, describing the borehole and polytank as a timely, life‑saving relief effort.
This humanitarian gesture reinforces Hon. Afrifa’s reputation for grassroots‑focused development and decisive leadership in moments of crisis. As he campaigns for the NPP Western Regional chairmanship, his swift response has been widely acknowledged across Amenfi West as an example of compassionate and practical leadership. For Samreboi, the new water infrastructure stands as a beacon of hope and a model of how political and private‑sector collaboration can deliver real relief during unprecedented disasters.
With recovery efforts still ongoing, stakeholders continue to call for additional support from government agencies, corporate bodies and philanthropists to help affected families rebuild their lives and restore normalcy.
