The Passport Office has dismissed claims circulating on social media that actress and entrepreneur Fella Makafui has been issued a service or diplomatic passport.
The Office described the reports as false and urged the public to disregard the information.
The clarification comes after claims emerged online alleging that the actress had been granted a diplomatic or service passport by the state.
In a public notice shared on its official social media platforms on Thursday, June 25, the Passport Office denied the allegations.
"Please disregard and treat with contempt the blatant falsehood that Fella Makafui has been issued a Service or Diplomatic Passport," the notice stated.
According to the Office, the actress holds an ordinary Ghanaian passport like every other eligible citizen and has not been granted any special travel document.
The Office said misinformation surrounding the issue had the potential to mislead the public and called on individuals to verify facts before publishing such claims.
It noted that Fella Makafui "holds and uses Ghana's prestigious Ordinary Passport like every other Ghanaian and nothing more."
