The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, received a rousing welcome on Sunday upon his return to Ghana after a working visit to Poland and Canada.
The Prempeh International Airport in Kumasi was transformed into a scene of celebration and cultural splendour as the monarch's aircraft touched down.
Hundreds of chiefs, queen mothers and subjects from across the Asante Kingdom gathered at the airport to welcome the revered King home.
Clad in colourful kente and adorned with gold ornaments, chiefs lined the tarmac while drummers and fontomfrom ensembles filled the atmosphere with traditional royal rhythms.
Excited subjects waved flags and chanted praises, turning the monarch's arrival into a grand display of Asante culture and tradition.
The Asantehene's visit to Poland and Canada formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen relations between the Asante Kingdom and international partners.
During the trip, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II engaged government officials, business leaders and members of the Ghanaian diaspora on issues relating to education, investment and cultural diplomacy.
According to sources at the Manhyia Palace, the visit was aimed at attracting development partnerships and investment opportunities to support the growth and development of Asanteman.
Speaking to OTEC News, some of the individuals who turned out to welcome the monarch expressed appreciation for his commitment to the development of Asanteman and Ghana.
They praised the Asantehene for his dedicated leadership, wisdom and tireless efforts in promoting peace, unity and progress.
"We will continue to remain united and committed to peace and development as Asanteman continues to push for progress on both local and global fronts," a local chief stated.
Following his arrival, the Asantehene was escorted in a grand procession through the principal streets of Kumasi to the Manhyia Palace.
Security was heightened along the route as thousands of residents lined the streets to catch a glimpse of the monarch.
Chiefs and elders said the massive turnout reflected the deep respect, admiration and affection the people of Asanteman have for their King.
