Some Zoomlion workers in the Bantama Municipality have petitioned the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, over the non-payment of their salaries for the past one and a half years.

According to the workers, the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has allegedly employed other individuals to replace them while their outstanding salaries remain unpaid, a situation they say has affected their livelihoods and ability to perform their responsibilities effectively.

Speaking on behalf of the workers in an interview with OTEC News on Monday, June 15, 2026, Agya Sei stated that they initially reported their concerns to the management of Zoomlion.

He explained that the company subsequently directed them to the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council to present their grievances to the Regional Minister.

The workers are therefore appealing to Dr. Frank Amoakohene to intervene and expedite efforts to resolve the issue.

They say the prolonged delay in salary payments has created severe financial difficulties for them and their families, and they are hopeful that the Regional Minister's intervention will bring relief to their situation.
