Samuel Opoku, the 30-year-old Ghanaian man who gained international attention over a series of fecal attacks in Toronto in 2019, has reportedly been arrested again in Canada.
According to reports by the New York Post and Canadian media outlets, Opoku was arrested on May 12 and charged with two counts of sexual assault and indecent exposure in connection with two separate incidents in Toronto.
Police said the alleged incidents involved strangers and did not result in physical injuries.
Investigators disclosed that on May 9, Opoku allegedly approached a group of women walking along a sidewalk, made sexual advances toward them, grabbed one woman by the forearm and sexually assaulted her before fleeing the scene.
In another incident on May 10, he allegedly followed a woman into a commercial office building, approached her from behind and sexually assaulted her before escaping.
Court records reportedly confirm that Opoku is the same individual linked to a string of incidents in November 2019 in which buckets of liquid human waste were thrown at five unsuspecting victims, including a young girl, at locations such as the University of Toronto and the John P. Robarts Library.
Following his arrest in 2019, Opoku was charged with multiple counts of assault with a weapon and mischief.
At the time, his lawyer argued that he was dealing with mental health challenges, and he was later granted bail after spending about three weeks in custody. Reports indicate that the final outcome of the 2019 case remains unclear.
The 2019 incidents generated widespread public outrage and later inspired a 2024 independent film titled “The Pee Pee Poo Poo Man.”
His latest arrest has reignited public debate in Toronto over issues relating to public safety, mental health and homelessness.
Police investigations into the new allegations are ongoing.
