The Ghana Police Service has dismissed allegations of paper leakage and bribery in a recent police promotion examination, describing the claims as false and without merit.
In a press release issued by the Public Affairs Directorate at the Police Headquarters in Accra on May 10, 2026, the Service said it had taken notice of a publication by The Herald newspaper alleging irregularities in the conduct of the promotion examination.
According to the statement, the Police Administration categorically rejected the allegations and insisted that the claims were baseless.
“The Service wishes to categorically state that these allegations are baseless and without merit,” the statement noted.
The Police Service explained that the promotion examination was conducted by the University of Cape Coast, an institution it described as having a strong reputation, integrity, and proven track record in administering such examinations.
The statement further indicated that the Police Administration takes serious exception to the allegations and urged the public to disregard the publication.
The release was signed by Deputy Commissioner of Police Grace Ansah Akrofi, Director General of Public Affairs.
