Overambitiousness and overzealousness alone cannot land you your presidential dream but tact and adaptiveness to the prevailing conditions, o ye NPP presidential aspirants.
No amount of undermining, sabotage and insults to rain upon the public or God's-chosen one will stick but by being tactful and adaptive.
There is this erroneous belief among many people that the animal survivability in the jungle is dependent on their fitness hence the saying, “the survival of the fittest”. No, it is rather the survival of the animal that most adapts to the jungle conditions to live and stay longer.
Any animal that survives most and longer by adapting to the changing harsh jungle life or conditions, no matter how little it is, is the fittest.
If a lion by its sheer dominance of strength pridely walks into a pack of wolves or hyenas, it risks fatal mauling but a wolf walking or running cautiously away from a pride of lions may survive.
Therefore, it is not your amount of wealth, education and how best and loud you can insult your fellow political opponents from the same party that will land you your dream presidential post but how you adapt and adopt.
If the current political terrain looks slippery for you but it is favourable to the other, don’t worsen the condition for them or you but wait for the condition to turn to suit you or else, you can’t survive it but fall with a thud.
Splitting and going your way to form your political party or movement owing to some misunderstandings and or, overambition, to land the presidency at all costs is not smart success or demonstration of fittest but weakness and failure.
Look at the current status of Mr Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng aka Alan Cash. Is he now better or worse off than when he was in NPP before he politically immaturely and thoughtlessly split up to form his “Independent Butterfly” movement or party, whatever it was?
If he had learnt or known how to adapt, he would have accepted to become the vice candidate to Dr Bawumia when many knowledgeable and concerned party members made that candid suggestion to him.
However, consumed by pride and thoughtless belief that it was his de facto turn to become the NPP flag bearer cum presidential candidate without adapting to the then prevailing situation, his political career or limelight has almost completely extinguished.
Same advice goes to Mr Kennedy Ohene Agyekum, he had better learn the acts of jungle survivability through adaptivess but not aggression and insults as it is conspicuously the character and behaviour of most of his divisive followers and supporters.
Forming splinter movements in attempts to weaken the NPP to cost them winning general elections to prevent Dr Bawumia from ever becoming the president of Ghana on the ticket of NPP will not wash.
Support him now that he is the elected one and surely, your turn will come one day, all ye overambitious NPP presidential aspirants.
Be adaptive but not saboteurs believing in “if I can’t succeed, everyone must fail”. No, this is not clever but evil that does not augur well for anyone.
Let us all support Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia now and after him, any of the aggrieved saboteurs if they behave themselves adaptively, can be considered.
