The current Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney, was previously the Governor of the Bank of England. Kasper Rorsted, CEO of Adidas is a Danish citizen. Ola Källenius, CEO of Mercedes-Benz, holds a Swedish passport. Carlos Queiroz, the National Coach of Ghana's Black Stars, is a Portuguese. Arabs employ foreigners in strategic enterprises.
Meanwhile, the Ghanaian News outlets are daily filled with stories of corruption either under the NDC or the NPP governments committed by members or supporters of both parties. There is no reduction of the cases, the type of crime or the amount of money looted not to mention that it is close to extinction with real and severe punishment as a deterrent strategy. The corruption level in North and West Europe is around 77% (Germany) and 89% in Denmark (2025, Transparency International). The logic tells a nation that the high level of corruption caused by nationals does not go away to employ qualified foreigners in strategic positions who give a clear assurance not to misuse or run away with money that belongs to the nation of Ghana.
Logic further suggests that, as the same stories of corruption spin over and over again Ghanaians don't seriously want to fight corruption, whether small in society they somehow all benefit from it and cases of arrest are good for the press but not helping the country for good. It wonders logical intellectuals how patient the citizens are only getting on their toes when the other party is involved.
And Germany still supports Ghana with financial assistance. Ghanaians have a good laugh at us. So sad.
