NPP Reset Ghana Policy Is a Game Changer as NPP Activist Predicts 2028 Electoral Defeat for Bawumia

A well‑known New Patriotic Party (NPP) activist in Konongo, Ashanti Region, Prince Opoku Agyeman, has delivered a blunt and startling assessment of his party’s electoral prospects, warning that the NPP is heading toward defeat in the 2028 general elections unless urgent corrective measures are taken.

Speaking in an interview with the Correspondent, Agyeman linked the NPP’s potential loss to the impact of President Mahama’s Reset Ghana policy and other initiatives he believes are resonating strongly with the public.

Despite his long‑standing affiliation with the NPP, Agyeman insisted that “the plain truth must be told,” arguing that his objective analysis of the current political climate shows the party has “no feet to stand on” going into the next election cycle.

According to him, President Mahama’s Reset Ghana agenda—alongside other flagship programmes—is significantly transforming the lives of ordinary Ghanaians. He cited the Nkokonkente project, improvements in the agricultural sector, job creation interventions, the Big Push initiative, and the stabilization of the cedi as examples of policies gaining widespread approval.

“These policies have positioned the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to be embraced by Ghanaians and to retain power in the 2028 elections,” he stated.

Agyeman, who openly identified himself as a beneficiary of the Nkokonkente project, did not hold back in his criticism of his own party. He described the NPP as a “dyed‑in‑the‑wool political entity” that prioritizes noise-making over tangible development—an approach he says sharply contrasts with what Ghanaians are witnessing under President John Dramani Mahama.

He acknowledged that his remarks may anger many NPP supporters but maintained that “the truth must be told.”

The Konongo-based activist further argued that internal factionalism, blame-shifting, and persistent political bickering within the NPP are contributing to what he predicts will be the party’s humiliation in the next elections.

“While my brief evidence cannot be disputed by opposition elements, it is very clear that the policies adopted by the NDC government will surely push the NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and his elephant party into the bush in 2028 if they continue with dirty politics without making the necessary amendments,” Agyeman warned.
