Atokple, the Volta Regional Representative on the Council of State, at his residence in Weta in the Ketu North Municipality.
The visit on Thursday, April 30, 2026, was to formally present the WABA title belt to Dr Kwamigah-Atokple and brief him on preparations toward the defence of the title in the coming months.
Dr Kwamigah-Atokple commended the boxer for his dedication, discipline and resilience, and assured him of his support as he prepares to defend the title.
He said Gad's achievement was a source of pride to the Volta Region, and a reflection of what determination and sacrifice could produce.
Dr Kwamigah-Atokple noted that Gad's rise in boxing demonstrated that excellence was often built through persistence, sacrifice and an unwavering belief in one's talent.
“His journey is a reminder that greatness is not always born in comfort, but in persistence, sacrifice and an unyielding belief in one's craft,” he said.
He pledged his commitment to support the boxer's preparations and help create opportunities that would strengthen his title defence and position him for greater success on the international stage.
“I remain committed to creating the necessary opportunities and support systems that will not only aid his title defence but also position him for greater heights,” Dr Kwamigah-Atokple added.
Gad won the prestigious WABA title on April 4, 2026, after stopping Eliasu Sulley in the seventh round by technical knockout at the Aborigines Beach Hotel in Keta.
The victory earned him the WABA belt and further cemented his growing reputation in Ghana's boxing circles.
