The Korle Bu Teaching Hospital is set to roll out two new specialised services, In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) and a Corporate Clinic, before the end of 2026.
The initiative forms part of the hospital’s broader plan to expand access to advanced healthcare services and respond to growing patient demand for specialised care in Ghana.
The announcement was made by the Chief Executive Officer of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Dr Yakubu Seidu Adam, at the hospital’s 2025 Annual Performance Review held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, in Accra.
Dr Adam explained that the new services are part of ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening the hospital’s position as a leading tertiary health facility in the country.
In a news release issued via social media on Saturday, May 2, the hospital explained that the IVF centre is expected to improve access to fertility treatment locally and reduce the need for patients to seek such services abroad.
It will also serve as a training and research hub for specialists in reproductive health, while expanding the hospital’s capacity in advanced medical care.
Preparatory works are already underway, with space earmarked within the KML Block and equipment procurement plans in motion.
The Corporate Clinic, on the other hand, will target institutions and executives with tailored healthcare services.
It will offer services such as routine health screening, occupational health support, and faster access to specialist consultations.
He added that both projects are at advanced stages of development and are expected to be fully operational before the end of the year.
The developments form part of Korle Bu’s ongoing efforts to modernise healthcare delivery and improve specialised services in Ghana.
