Transgender musician Angel Maxine has refused to apologise or retract alleged defamatory comments she made against Assin South MP, Reverend John Ntim Fordjour.

The controversy stems from a viral social media post in which the musician reportedly claimed that the MP, a lead sponsor of the proposed anti-LGBTQ+ bill, is gay and had sexual relations with her.

However, in a cease and desist notice issued by his legal representatives, Nkrumah & Associates, on Monday, April 27, the MP categorically denied ever knowing or meeting the musician.

The legal team stated that “our client makes bold to say that you are a complete stranger to him,” adding that he has “at no material time met, seen, communicated with, associated with or engaged in sexual intercourse or any form of sexual contact with you.”

The lawyers further described the allegations as baseless and damaging.

According to the legal notice, Angel Maxine has seven days from April 27 to comply with the demands or face a lawsuit.

Reacting to the notice in a social media post on the same day, the musician insisted she will not apologise or retract the statement.

"I have received a formal demand from lawyers representing MP Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, requesting that I issue an immediate retraction and apology over what they describe as defamatory claims I circulated on social media.

"They have warned me, Angel Maxine, that if I fail to comply within seven days from April 27, 2026, legal action will be taken against me. Let's see how this plays out, because ACTUALLY I'M NOT SORRY!!!!!" she wrote.

Yesterday, I commented that Ntim Fordjour has worsened his case by threatening this fearless individual who has taken to social media to expose him. What I said is now clear. Let me tell you something, the best advice is to take this case out of court and settle amicably because this is a case you will never win. In fact, you, Ntim Fordjour, need to resign immediately. You can never serve in any nation when involved in such a scandal, and don't say that since Ghana is an African country, you wil...
